What if we could move beyond the narrow focus of grades and test scores to give students a fuller, fairer picture of who they are and what they can do? At Vivedus, we believe that day has come.
That’s why we’ve partnered with the University of Melbourne to offer schools a powerful alternative to traditional reports: the Vivedus Learner Profile.
More than just an academic transcript, the Learner Profile is a holistic portrait of a young person’s capabilities, creative intelligence, and growth over time. It captures the skills that matter most for thriving in a rapidly changing world, things like critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and self-awareness, alongside academic progress.
Our timing couldn’t be more significant. Just this month, Professor Sandra Milligan and her team at the University of Melbourne were awarded a major grant from the Australian Research Council (ARC) to redesign university admissions in Australia. The goal? To move beyond ATAR and toward a more inclusive, capability-based system that recognises a wider range of student strengths.
“This project will prototype and trial a new admissions process that values broader capabilities and prepares students more effectively for future study and work,” Professor Milligan said.
This national momentum toward rethinking what we value in education reinforces what we’ve known all along: the traditional report card is no longer fit for purpose.
Vivedus schools are already leading the way, showing what it looks like when assessment becomes more human, more holistic, and more aligned with the real world. Our Learner Profile doesn’t just document a student’s journey, it empowers them to shape it.
As Australia begins to reimagine university entry, Vivedus is proud to be helping schools reimagine how learning itself is measured and celebrated.
