At the beginning of April, our Managing Director, Dr Paul Browning, and Head of Research and Development, Gabrielle Kempton, visited Bunbury Senior High School in Western Australia. Bunbury is an impressive school with an incredibly committed team of teachers. Over two days, we provided professional development on the theory underpinning the Vivedus Learning Activation Model and supported their first steps on the Vivedus Platform.
The response from teachers using the Platform for the first time was very affirming:
"Wow, wow, wow! I thought ChatGPT was good. This is just incredible. It has just done what would have taken me two days, and it’s all aligned to the curriculum!"
While in Bunbury, Paul also delivered a keynote on Compelling Leadership to regional government school principals. Later in the week, Paul and Gabrielle attended and spoke at the ReimaginED Conference in Fremantle and met with the principal of a large, independent girls’ school.
Meanwhile, conversations have begun with several schools in New Zealand. Follow-up meetings are scheduled for May. One of the surprises in these conversations has been the contrast between the Australian and New Zealand education systems. New Zealand, without a national curriculum, has far fewer resources for professional development and school improvement—even in private schools, which are relatively rare.
April also saw two new schools officially partner with Vivedus:
- The Cathedral School of St Anne and St James (Townsville, QLD)
- Carinya Christian School (Gunnedah, NSW)
Paul and Gabrielle will travel to Armidale in May to meet with another prospective partner school, before heading to Gunnedah to run onboarding for Carinya. In July, they’ll travel to Townsville to onboard The Cathedral School.
This brings our total partner schools to five—with another three currently reviewing the license agreement—all within less than a year of launching (24 May 2024).
Looking ahead:
- In June, Vivedus will have a trade stand at EduTech, Australia's largest education conference.
- Later in the same month, we’ll be at the NextEd Conference hosted by Lutheran Education Queensland.
Meanwhile, the Vivedus Platform continues to evolve daily. Our Development Team is integrating ViV-iT, our AI assistant, into the teacher planning module (currently active in Unit Overview). Soon, teachers will be able to generate lesson plans aligned to the national curriculum and the Vivedus methodology—at a Highly Accomplished teacher standard.
This innovation will significantly reduce planning time, support teacher growth, and ultimately lift student learning outcomes. While AI will never replace great teachers, it will make their lives easier—and their teaching even better.
Once ViV-iT is fully integrated into the planning module, we’ll build the Community of Practice—another step towards one of our core values: collaboration. This feature will allow teachers to upload exemplary units from learning into a shared library, enabling colleagues from other Vivedus schools to access, adapt, and improve upon high-quality plans.
This will not only reduce teacher workload but also provide rural and remote schools with access to specialist-developed curriculum resources.
Thank you again for your ongoing interest and support of Vivedus. Together, we are transforming education by activating the creative intelligence of every child.
